This season we will be running eight monthly tournaments. Seven of them will feature a singles qualifying format and one (January) will be a doubles qualifying format event.

On many of our tournament weekends, we will also run an additional (optional) Swiss Trios event that takes place on Saturday afternoon.

The only exceptions to this will be our 2nd, 6th & 7th tour stops in October, February, and March where the Swiss Trio event will be replaced by a pair of Non-Champions Only events (October and March) and a special Monte Carlo style Pro-am event scheduled in February.

Each of these optional Saturday side-events are open to all bowlers, regardless of SOBA membership, and they will all have a separate entry fee.

For entry into main events you can bowl as a member or as a non-member. Annual SOBA membership dues are $25. Optional sidepots and/or brackets are also available at tournaments.

This season Grand Finals (GF) will be our ninth tour stop and it will be held in early May.

GF will consist of 24 bowlers bowling 18 games of matchplay – 3 blocks of 6 games. An exact format will be released later this season.

Bowlers making up the GF 24-bowler field will include the top 16 bowlers on the season long points list and 8 additional bowlers from the GF PTQ.

Top 16 points list bowlers automatically get a bye into GF and the remaining bowlers who have paid for five tournaments over the course of a year may compete in the separate GF Pre-Tournament Qualifier (PTQ) event at the start of GF weekend.

1st Round matches (2-Game Eliminator Round. All bowlers advancing from Round 1 will bowl 2 games on 2 different pairs, blind draw for lane assignment. Top 12 bowlers will advance, all bowlers eliminated will cash & receive points based on highest 2 game score from Round 1)
Second Round matches (2 games) feature the 12 bowlers advancing from 1st round immediately following the conclusion of Round 1. Top 6 bowlers from 2 game round advance (no carryover from Rd 1)
Third Round matches (2 games) feature the 6 winners of second round immediately following the conclusion of Round 2. Top 3 Bowlers advance in same format as previous rounds.
Fourth Round will feature a 1 game match of final 3 bowlers. Lowest score is eliminated & finishes 3rd, with top 2 bowlers advancing to a single game Championship match.
Finals will feature a one game shootout of final 2 bowlers.

Swiss Trios Event Saturday afternoon.

This is our 8th and final SOBA points tournament on the 2019-2020 schedule. We will have one qualifying squad on Sunday, April 19th *Limited to 84 bowlers. Check in will start at 8:30am with practice starting at 9:30am. Cost $80 for members, $90 for Non-members. First time bowlers get $10 off their first tournament. Cash 1 in 3, additional $100 award for highest non-cashing Woman bowler (sponsored by Caveman Bowl), as well as $50 high game out of the money awards for both men & women (Sponsored by Epicenter Bowling). Optional brackets & sidepots also available.

Format: 5 games across 5 pairs in qualifying. Top 1/3 of field advance to Matchplay Finals (max of 24 advancing bowlers). No carryover of pins to matchplay. 5 games of matchplay, position round each of rounds 2 thru 5 w/ 30 bonus pins for each head to head win. Top 5 bowlers after 5 games of matchplay advance to stepladder finals.
